Investments in buildings, infrastructures and landscaping are increasingly taking sustainability into account, however, it is still not enough. What concerns landscaping, QualityEdging seeks to deliver sustainable, high-quality edging and pathways separations made of aluminum and corten steel that protect your investments and respect the environment in terms of resource conservation during the production phase, installation and after dismantling.

The manufacturing process is key to us. We carefully select our suppliers according to their sustainability targets and corporate responsibility activities. Although aluminum requires a relatively large amount of energy to be extracted for the first time, responsible manufacturers adopt energy from hydropower and other renewable energy sources. Aluminum has many advantages; first of all, it is here forever.

After its life cycle as a lawn edging, our products are nearly 100% recyclable, for sure they will not end up in the trash. Scrap metal has significant scrap value that is likely to be higher, in the near future, than today's price for new aluminum. The “old” aluminum profiles can be melted down and shaped into a new product. The energy required for this process is fairly low.

Due to its light weight, aluminum has a better energy balance when transported on trucks than, for example, concrete or steel. Light weights can improve fuel efficiency in the building and landscaping industry – reducing energy consumption and greenhouse gas emissions. In addition, unlike steel or iron, aluminum is a so-called “non-ferrous metal”, i.e. it does not need to be galvanized as it does not rust. This alone has a significant advantage in terms of sustainability.

By using metal lawn edges, irrigation and maintenance efforts are optimized. The lawn and garden area requires less water as watering edges are an important aspect of the resource-saving of water.

High-quality materials are certainly key in terms of sustainability. Unfortunately, much too often landscape’s edging products are not designed and built to last. Besides they are often poorly installed so that frequent substitution causes more damages to the area and to the environment than we can imagine. We think that this is unacceptable.
